Job Description

Retail Sales - Fyshwick Canberra

We require someone with good interpersonal skills, problem solver with empathy, patience and good organisational skills.  Self motivated and have pride in your work.

You must be able to take personal responsibility for your actions.

You will be required to manage the shop during your hours of work.  handle all aspects of retail sales and shop management during the hours of work.

Have a good speaking voice. Good command of the English language, spelling, grama, writting and arithmetic.

3 months trial

Salary Package: Discussed on an individual basis if you get through to an interview.

Tasks

  • Greet customers and ascertain what each customer wants or needs.
  • Open and close cash registers, performing tasks such as counting money, separating charge slips, coupons, and vouchers, balancing cash drawers, and making deposits.
  • Maintain knowledge of current sales and promotions, policies regarding payment and exchanges, and security practices.
  • Compute sales prices, total purchases and receive and process cash or credit payment.
  • Maintain records related to sales.
  • Maintain records related to promotions.
  • Watch for and recognise security risks and thefts, and know how to prevent or handle these situations.
  • Recommend, select, and help locate or obtain merchandise based on customer needs and desires.
  • Answer questions regarding the store and its merchandise.
  • Describe merchandise and explain use, operation, and care of merchandise to customers.
  • Ticket, arrange and display merchandise to promote sales.
  • Prepare sales slips or sales contracts.
  • Place special orders or call other stores to find desired items.
  • Demonstrate use or operation of merchandise.
  • Clean shelves, counters, and tables.
  • Keep premises clean and tidy
  • Exchange merchandise for customers and accept returns.
  • Bag or package purchases, and wrap gifts.
  • Help customers try on or fit merchandise.
  • Inventory stock and requisition new stock.
  • Prepare merchandise for purchase or rental.
  • Sell or arrange for delivery, insurance, financing, or service contracts for merchandise.
  • Estimate cost of repair or alteration of merchandise.
  • Supply suggestions on how to create better sales and meet customer needs.
  • Notification of any maintenance, repairs or security requirements for the shop.

RETAIL SALES - Casual

SLF is a manufacturer, marketer and retailer of sheepskin products. We are developing retail stores and global brands across the Internet covering a wide range of products with sales in the USA, UK, Europe and Australia.  

We have just opened a new store in Fyshwick, Canberra. 

Require:

  • Retail Sales
  • Casual approx 20 hours a week
  • Monday to Sunday
